I am proud to say that this week I have been avidly working on my goals! I have been spending a lot of time outside and working on my own fitness goals to better myself in the gym!
It feels great to write something down and then crush it!
I also have super exciting news to share!
This week I was given the privilege to be sent an amazing cookbook by an even more amazing cookbook author, Andrea Lynn! "The I Love Trader Joe's College Cookbook" is perfect and has so many amazing quick and easy, gourmet recipes I can't wait to share with you guys!
For all of you who personally have had the "pleasure" to venture with me to Trader Joe's... you know that I cannot/will not leave the store without buying an entire buggy full of new stuff to try.
Andrea Lynn, the author of the cookbook, was gracious enough to send me a copy so I could blog about it to you guys!
So lookout for some delicious recipes to come your way very, very soon!
This morning was not pretty. I was convinced that today was going to be dreary all day, but to my surprise (thank goodness) it turned into quite a beautiful day!
I mean look at that picture of the Louisiana State Capital, those flowers are gorgeous!
It was just so dreary it was almost depressing... so depressing I didn't want to workout...
BUT I sucked it up and did it!
Also, I may have gone a little overboard on the equipment rental today at the UREC.
P.S. that weird brown thing is a squat belt it protects/support your back when doing high weighted squats. It also accentuates my waist... And my outfit.
For my workout today I did a knock off version of CHAARG's JUMP+PUMP workout from the CHAARG Spring Break FitPlan I participated in during February and early March.
This was one of my favorite workouts during the plan. It incorporates cardio and lifting, which I loved! If you have never done a jump rope workout before, I highly recommend it.
Your booty with thank me.
This workout is done in cycles. Therefore you do the workouts one after the other with barely any rest time. If you need to rest feel free to rest for about 30 seconds between each JUMP + PUMP exercise. Take your allotted rest time after each cycle.

I have to give myself a little pat on the back real quick.
Today I surpassed my goal that I set a week ago of squatting 130lbs... by ALOT.
Today I squatted.....
Wait for it....
155lbs.
No, that is not a mistype. I actually squatted that.
Words cannot tell you how excited I am about this! Even in my prime fitness time (I love rhyming) I wasn't able to do that!
This truly shows you that if you set a goal for yourself and work at it you, really can accomplish anything!
It's all up to you!
Here's a little inspiration I saw today and thought I would share it with you guys!
I think these are both things we should be constantly reminding ourselves of!
Let's challenge ourselves this week to be the happiest "USes" (is that a word?) that we can be!
Set a goal for yourself this week and surprise yourself with how awesome you are!
And always remember.
YOU are in charge of your own happiness and no one can take that away from YOU, except YOU.
Have a wonderful rest of your FITtastic Friday!
Go out there and be FITtastic!
thumbs up
